Frequently Asked Questions
How do I reserve a boat?+
Pick your boat from the Fleet page, choose your date and rental tier, and submit a booking inquiry. We review every inquiry personally and usually confirm within an hour.
Do I need a boating license?+
Missouri state law requires a valid Boating Safety Certificate for anyone born on or after January 1, 1984. Out-of-state boating cards are accepted. If you need one, you can get it quickly online at boat-ed.com.
How does payment work?+
When you submit an inquiry, we save your card on file via Stripe but don't charge anything yet. Once we approve the booking, we charge the rental amount and place a separate refundable hold for the security deposit.
Is there a security deposit?+
Yes. Each boat rental carries a $300 refundable deposit held on your card. We release it after returning the boat and verifying there's no damage.
What's included?+
Every rental includes life jackets, required safety equipment, and a full first tank of gas. You return the boat with a full tank or pay for refueling.
Can I rent at night?+
No. Our boat has no night navigation lights, so operation is restricted to daylight hours — sunrise to sunset only.
Where do I pick up the boat?+
At our private dock at mile marker 46.5 on the Lake of the Ozarks. We'll meet you there for a full safety walkthrough before you head out.
What if I'm staying at one of your Airbnb homes?+
Even better — both homes are less than 5 minutes away from the boat dock by car or water. One is literally next door. You can coordinate timing with us directly.
What's your cancellation policy?+
7+ days before your reservation: $30 processing fee. Less than 7 days: forfeit half. Less than 48 hours: forfeit the full amount. We can't offer refunds for early returns due to weather.
What happens if I damage the boat?+
You're responsible for any damage during your rental. Repair costs are billed to the card on file at cost plus 20%, which is standard for boat rentals.
